World Wildlife Fund Australia (WWF-Australia) has announced the introduction of a supply chain tool that will allow businesses and consumers to track food products using Blockchain, according to a January 17 tweet.
What if you knew exactly how sustainable your food is, just by scanning a QR code with your phone? With OpenSC, you can.#OpenSC is a revolutionary digital platform developed by WWF-Australia and @BCGDV that allows you to track a product along its entire supply chain. Called OpenSC, the platform is the product of a partnership between WWF Australia and BCG Digital Ventures (BCGDV) – the global investment, and incubation group of the US-based Boston Consulting Group.
According to a post on the WWF site, the system enables both the tracking of products produced by them and consumers to see the origin of those products through a “unique blockchain code at the origin of the product”.
